ALLENTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA (WFMZ Allentown) - An elementary school's quest to save pennies has really paid off.
Siegfried Elementary School in Northampton, Northampton County has been participating in the "Pennies for Patients" campaign.
It's a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Over the last three weeks, the students collected cash.
The winning team got a pizza party Friday. That honor went to the sixth graders at Siegfried.
Overall, the school raised more than $5,500 in pennies.
