March of Dimes

HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT (Hartford Courant) - When Open Solutions, Inc. hosted their annual Fall Employee Fair at their Glastonbury headquarters for clients and employees, Bearingstar Insurance, a member of the Arbella Insurance Group, was in attendance as a preferred vendor, offering group home/auto insurance discounts through their Fundraising Advantage program. The funds raised that day by Open Solutions employees were selected to benefit the March of Dimes Connecticut Chapter. Open Solutions presented a check to the March of Dimes for $500. To date, Bearingstar has helped Connecticut companies raise over $8,000 for March of Dimes, whose mission is to give all babies a healthy start by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

Through its Fundraising Advantage Program, $25 is donated to the March of Dimes for every home, auto, or motorcycle insurance quote received. A new policy does not have to be purchased for the donation to be given.

"We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with a new neighbor in the Glastonbury business community, and are so thankful for the dedication shown to non-profits by our friends at Bearingstar Insurance," said Marc Spencer, Community Director at March of Dimes. "Bearingstar Insurance is a true partner, and Open Solutions is truly charity-minded, so we look forward to our continued success on all fronts."

"Open Solutions Inc. has a history of giving back to the community," said Faith Nigro, HR Generalist at open Solutions Inc. "I'm proud that we were able to donate to the March of Dimes because of our relationship with Bearingstar. I look forward to partnering with both in the future whether it is for dollar donations or employee volunteerism."

The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. With chapters nationwide and its premier event, March for Babies, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
