MOSCOW, RUSSIA (The Voice of Russia) - Russia will do more to tackle hunger under the auspices of the UN World Food Program, Alexei Meshkov, Russia’s Ambassador to Italy, told reporters on Monday.
He recalled that last year saw Russia contribute 32 billion dollars to the implementation of the World Food Program in the face of the global economic crisis fallout.
Right now, Russia is shoring up an array of developing nations, including Tajikistan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Palestine, Yemen and several African countries.
A session of the World Food Program’s executive committee is slated for later this day in Rome.
