NEW YORK , NEW YORK (WJZ) - A 12-year-old Middletown girl is organizing a walk to raise money for wildlife affected by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
Amber Grunow saw a picture of a pelican coated in oil and decided to do something about it. Amber and her family are now sponsoring a Walk for Wildlife set for Saturday morning in Middletown. Donations are tax-deductible and will go to the National Wildlife Federation.
Amber says 25 people have pre-registered for the event. She has raised more than $400, including donations from as far away as Arizona and Texas.
