Bend Area Habitat for Humanity
PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLORIDA (KBND) - An anonymous family has donated $20,000 to Bend Area Habitat for Humanity.
Robin Cooper, Habitat's Development Coordinator, says the gift givers are hoping their donation will inspire others to match the gift.
"It’s a wonderful way to encourage the community to come forward and match what they've done in helping with mortgage payments or putting money toward one of the builds.
That’s what they would like to encourage, but they are giving it no matter what.
They’re a family that attends Eastmont Church. It's just a wonderful thing they've been able to do.
" Cooper says the gift will be very helpful for the few habitat families who are struggling to keep up their mortgage payments.
Habitat holds the loans and charges no interest for qualifying families and works to keep the families in their Habitat homes.
Cooper says Bend Habitat has never had to foreclose on a property.
