Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance
SLEAFORD, U K (Sleaford Today) - More than £3,000 has been raised for charity following a dance night and bike ride.
Rex Crowden and his partner Liz Wilkinson, both of Billingborough, presented a cheque to the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance after Rex completed a cycle challenge with his friend Tom Webster.
Rex and Tom recently rode a tandem bicycle from Mablethorpe to Billingborough, a total of 50 miles, and managed to raise £3,200, with support from friends Pete and Jackie Thorpe.
To help boost their fund-raising total, Rex and Liz, along with a group of friends, held a dance at the Donington British Legion club, free of charge, with many local businesses donating raffle prizes for the cause.
It is a charity close to Rex’s heart as the air ambulance saved the life of his son Ricky Crowden after he was run over by a fork lift truck.
Rex said: “We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way.”
