ELMIRA, NEW YORK (WETM-TV) - The following is a press release from Steuben County Office of Emergency Services:

Storm clean up continues in Steuben County after Thursday’s severe storms. The most severe damage from these storms was in Addison, Erwin, Lindley, Caton and South Corning. NYSEG is reporting that nearly 2900 customers are still without electric service in the county but estimate that most will be restored by late Saturday.

The National Weather Service conducted storm surveys yesterday and are looking at several locations in Steuben County with potential Tornados touched down including Ryers Creek in Lindley and River Road in South Corning. The Steuben County Office of Emergency Services is working with The Greater Steuben Chapter of the American Red Cross to provide some mobile feeding locations to Steuben County.

The Red Cross will be providing a mobile feeding center at the Caton Fire Department, Saturday Afternoon 7/28/2012 at 3:00 p.m. Additional Red Cross staff will be checking other areas of the county that were hardest hit to provide additional Services. The Office of Emergency Services recommends that you check on elderly neighbors.
