RIPON, U K (Ripon Today) - Time is running out for eager thrill-seekers to take part in the Ultimate Ride-a-thon at Lightwater Valley near Ripon in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA) on Yorkshire Day (August 1) .
Supporters of the YAA are being given the opportunity to ride Europe’s longest rollercoaster – the Ultimate – for a continuous hour (10 full laps and 15 continual miles) before the park opens to the public for the day on Wednesday.
With under a week to go until the big day, there are still 10 spaces left to be filled so the charity is encouraging any last-minute participants to register for their place. Each participant –who has to raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship – will also be given free entry to the theme park for the day.
Abby McClymont , marketing manager of the YAA, said: “This is by far one of our most exciting fundraisers yet!
“We are thrilled that Lightwater Valley has chosen to support the YAA this year and we are very much looking forward to helping them raise as much money as possible for the YAA over the next 12 months.”
l To sign up for the ride-a-thon and receive an application pack, contact Sophie Wilkinson at YAA HQ on 01422 237900 or email s.wilkinson@yaa.org.uk
