GLADSTONE, AUSTRALIA (Gladstone Observer) - Some 120 golfers took part in the 2012 Gladstone Engineering Alliance and Workforce International Charity Golf Day on July 20 to raise funds for Friends of the RSPCA, Gladstone.

GEA general manager Carli Hobbs was delighted with the event's success.

"We see the golf day as a great way for people to get out of the office and network in a social but competitive environment," Ms Hobbs said.

With a score of 52 for the three-person Ambrose, National Safety Council of Australia (NSCA) Team B won the 2012 title.

"Both NSCA teams had a wonderful day playing in the charity event, and for one of our teams to win was such a bonus," NSCA, principal consultant Nicola Kelbie said.

RSPCA adoption officer Wendy Burke said volunteers were grateful for the $9500 raised and planned to use the donation for the upkeep of the Gladstone centre and neccessary renovations.
