KNUTSFORD, U K (Knutsford Guardian) - A Boot camp featuring a north west soap star helped raise more than £2,300 for a Millington-based children’s charity.

Former Hollyoaks actress Sarah Jayne Dunn joined Cheshire Fitness and 100 energetic individuals on March 31 at Wilmslow High School for a boot camp session with a difference.

Participants were invited to pay £10 per head for the one-and-a half-hour session – and certainly got their money’s worth.

The trainers put them through a tough session, including towing tractor tyres, boxing, squats and some very energetic team games. The Big Boot Camp was the brainchild of Greg Johnson and Glenn Williams, founders and directors of Cheshire Fitness.

It was their plan to bring together a large group of people to take part in a mass fitness session while raising money for a cause dear to their hearts. Cheshire Fitness run twice weekly boot camp sessions at Wilmslow High School, and their team of six qualified trainers donated their time for free on Saturday to make the event a success.

Helen Crowther, fundraiser at the Adventure Farm took part in the session.

She said: “We can’t thank Greg, Glenn and the guys from Cheshire Fitness enough.

“They worked so hard to make the event run smoothly, and have raised an amazing amount of money. “As well as those paying to take part there were large donations from some of Cheshire Fitness’s clients.

“It was a tough session, but Cheshire Fitness made it fun and achievable for everyone. It was wonderful to see so many people turn up for the event.

“They all put 100 per cent into the boot camp and were so supportive of our charity.”
