Gifts of Love
HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT (Hartford Courant) - The Connecticut Chapter of The Society of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) has presented local charity Gifts of Love with a $1,000 donation.
The Society is a national group of insurance professionals. The Connecticut chapter has 300 members.
"Touching the lives of children and families in need is a cornerstone of our Good Works efforts. We are impressed by the variety of programs that Gifts of Love offers to local individuals and families who need help during temporary financial crisis and offer this donation to further its work in our communities," said Chris Williams of the CPCU Good Works Committee in a news release from Gifts of Love.
Gifts of Love helps Farmington Valley and Greater Hartford individuals and families achieve or maintain self-sufficiency during temporary times of crisis. The non-profit organization provides food, clothing, household items, furniture and other aid.
"We are honored to receive this donation, which comes at a crucial time. Many of our clients have no other resources except Gifts of Love to help provide for their families," said Diana Goode, Gifts of Love executive director, in the release. "We also truly appreciate the recognition of the excellent work our staff and volunteers are doing to meet the increasing need in our region."
