Habitat for Humanity of Tuolumne County

TUOLUMNE, CALIFORNIA (MyMotherLode.com) - Habitat for Humanity of Tuolumne County (HFHTC) has completed two homes and will host a dedication ceremony this Saturday.

These are the first two homes of the Parrotts Ferry Village Development. Development will continue over the next five years creating a total of 36 energy-efficient, solar-powered, single family dwellings (2-story town homes).

HFHTC will host the home dedication ceremony at 22185 Parrotts Ferry Road in Columbia, to celebrate the construction of the newest Habitat homes for the Gee and Armstrong families.

The dedication ceremony will begin promptly at 1:00 pm and last about an hour. An open house of both the Gee and Armstrong homes will continue thereafter. Habitat volunteers, supporters, and well wishers in the community are all invited to join in the celebration.

The dedication marks the seventh and eighth Habitat homes built in Tuolumne County. HFHTC has also renovated three houses. The partner families agree to invest 500 sweat equity hours and pay the interest-free mortgage provided by Habitat. The organization used volunteer labor and donations from the community to keep building costs low.
