Scottish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
KIRKCALDY, U K (Fife Today) - The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a dog with an untreated skin condition was found in a Fife garden.
Scotland’s animal welfare charity was alerted by a resident in Lumphinnans who discovered the black Scottish terrier on Monday morning, April 2.
Senior Inspector John Chisholm said: “We can’t be sure if he has been purposefully abandoned in the garden or if he was straying and a passer by put him there.
Poor Dougie is suffering from a painful skin condition which has been left untreated and the fur on his back legs was badly matted when he was found.
“It’s likely he has been living in an outdoor kennel as he’s not as clean as we’d expect a dog who has been kept indoors to be, thankfully, he is now receiving the treatment he needs and is recovering well.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Scottish SPCA Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
