Easter Seals Disability Services

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA (Patch.com) - Throughout April, customers at Vons Pavilions on Santa Monica Boulevard will be given the option at check-out to help local residents with disabilities.

For the seventh year, the West Hollywood grocery store is helping raise money for Easter Seals Disability Services—the leading nonprofit provider of services for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities and other special needs.

"Easter Seals Southern California has seen first-hand the positive impact of the money raised by Vons and Pavilions stores in the last seven years of this campaign for people with disabilities," Mark Whitley, chief executive officer of Easter Seals Southern California, said in a statement.

Easter Seals provides job training and employment opportunities, pre-school and after-school services, and independent living options, among other services.

In 2011, the People With Disabilities campaign raised over $1 million in support of Easter Seals Southern California. Lori Raya, president of Vons, is hopeful this year's outcome will be the same.

"Vons is a proud employer of many associates with disabilities," said Raya, "and we want to ensure the good work of Easter Seals continues in this challenging economy."

Vons Pavilions is located at 8969 Santa Monica Blvd. in the heart of West Hollywood. For more on the charity campaign, visit www.SouthernCal.EasterSeals.com.
