Teenage Cancer Trust

LONDON, U K (Musicrooms.net) - The Beatles legend is his bringing his full 'On The Run' arena tour to the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday night (29.03.12) to he kicks off a run of shows in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust, and booked shows in Holland, Switzerland and Belgium around that show.

The Who's Roger Daltrey - who organises the Cancer Trust shows - told The Sun newspaper: "Sir Paul has been brilliant. We almost got him last year but he couldn't make the date work.

"He said, 'I'll be there for you next year, Rog' - and here he is.

"He did a few extra shows in Europe to make it work so no one had to foot the bill of getting his show here - and that means a lot.

"To see his full arena show in the Albert Hall will be a once-in-a-lifetime thing. He's the most iconic figure in the world."

Following the London gig, Paul will travel to South America in April to play shows in Uruguay, Paraguay, Colombia and Brazil before he heads over to Mexico for two dates in May.

After the 69-year-old singer's performance on Thursday night, Example will take to the stage on Friday (30.03.12) and reformed group Pulp will perform at the venue on Saturday (31.03.12).

Jessie J will headline the fourth evening and Florence + The Machine is in line to close the six-day series of gigs on April 3.
