Great Dane Adoption Society

BOSTON, U K (Boston Standard) - The Great Dane Adoption Society has been given a £5,500 boost thanks to a national pet store chain.

Pets at Home, which regularly supports local animal charities through its own charity Support Adoption for Pets, donated the money at its Boston store on Thursday.

The GDAS’s Joy Ledingham and partner Kevin Wilson visited the store, in Queen Street, with permanent resident Geoffrey to pick up the cheque.

“Pets at Home have been really good to us as this isn’t the first time they’re donated,” said Joy.

“The money will go towards paying for vet bills which are our biggest expense, along with food.”

The store’s manager Andy Watson said: “The money was raised from the donations taken at our stores’ small animals adoption centres.

“They are one of three animal charities which Pets at Home support in Boston.”

The charity, based in New Leake, has resuced more than 1,400 dogs since it was founded in the year 2000.
