United Way of Harrison County
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA (WBOY-TV) - The United Way of Harrison County began the day $7700 short of its goal for this year, but by the time its annual banquet started tonight, the organization had raised the $821,000 it needs to fully fund its agencies.
That money will stay in North Central West Virginia, and the United Way had many donors and volunteers to thank for their efforts.
"They come together, and they host a lot of functions that help us raise money, or they make presentations to their employees, and the volunteers just go out into the community and help us in all types of ways to help us make our goal. It's a community-wide effort," said United Way Campaign Chair Sara Aman.
The United Way handed out awards to individuals and businesses that donated more than $500 to the organization this year.
