JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA (First Coast News) - Today a national no-kill animal rescue organization presented a $340,000 grant to First Coast No More Homeless Pets.
Best Friends Animal Society partners with municipalities and organizations to save lives in the nation's animal shelters, according to a news release.
Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown and Rick DuCharme, the Founder and Executive Director of First Coast No More Homeless Pets were joined by the CEO of Best Friends Animal Society Pete Gregory for the formal presentation.
The money from the Best Friends Animal Society grant will in part be used to help reduce euthanasia and increase adoptions from Jacksonville animal shelters.
