Children's Miracle Network
PHOENIX, ARIZONA (KPHO Phoenix) - A special visitor stopped by Phoenix Children's Hospital today.
Newly-crowned Miss America Laura Kaeppeler spent the afternoon going room to room talking with the patients.
"It's funny because at first most of them are very shy, and then once you say who you are and they look at your crown they open up to you. We were doing arts and crafts so that was something that was fun for them and to be a part of and it kind of broke their shyness and their barrier," said Kaeppeler.
This was Kaeppeler's first official appearance since winning the title earlier this month.
The 23-year-old visited patients on behalf of the Children's Miracle Network, which is her national platform.
