YWCA of Madison Charity Profile
The YWCA of Madison is a nonprofit membership organization founded in 1909 as a member of the national YWCA. We are committed to self-determined social change for women of all racial, ethnic and economic groups. The YWCA provides leadership in our community, nation and world in the struggle for peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all people. The YWCA Madison is committed to providing safe, affordable housing for low-income women, emergency shelter for homeless women and families, Racial Justice programming, education and training to ensure economic security for women, and enrichment programs for girls to grow healthy, strong, and confident.
Women are empowered and the equality of their lives greatly improve in partnership with the YWCA. As more women find personal strength, together we build a community where diversity and the elimination of discrimination are celebrated and honored.
YWCA of Madison Volunteer Information
3rd Street volunteers provide interact with and supervise preschool aged children in the playroom in for a few hours in the evenings.
Suited for Success provides professional-styled clothing, shoes and accessories to women who need appropriate wardrobes in order to return to work or for job interviews.
Suited for Success Boutique volunteers help women choose clothing to wear on job interviews. The boutique hours are Tuesdays, 9am-noon, Thursdays, 2-5 pm. Volunteers usually commit to 1 or 2 shifts per month.
YWCA Employment and Training Annex Volunteers work with people to become full participants in the economy of our community through job training, and support for finding, changing or maintaining a job.

We are a 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax deductible. Your gifts to the YWCA help us to continue our mission to Eliminate Racism and Empower Women through our Housing, Employment & Training, and Racial Justice Programs.
