Northwest Trek Charity Profile
In 1971, Dr. David and Connie Hellyer decided to donate more than 500 acres of forested land to Metro Parks Tacoma. They wanted to create a park that would display North American wildlife in their natural environments to people of all ages.Northwest Trek Wildlife Park is dedicated to conservation, education and recreation by displaying, interpreting and researching native northwest wildlife and their natural habitats.
Northwest Trek Volunteer Information
If you enjoy working in a natural setting, learning about wildlife, being part of a dedicated team of staff and volunteers and providing visitors with a positive recreational experience, then Northwest Trek has a volunteer position for you.You don't need training in biology or teaching to be a great Northwest Trek volunteer. Our education specialists will teach you how to interpret information about Trek's animals and conservation issues in an interesting, informative way for park visitors.As a Northwest Trek volunteer, you will be affiliated with a unique, highly respected wildlife park, and be given the opportunity to fulfill personal goals and gain valuable experience.
