Roanoke Valley SPCA Charity Profile

"The Roanoke Valley Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to improve the quality of life for animals and the people they touch in the Roanoke Valley.”

We strive to accomplish this mission by providing food, shelter, medical care and companionship to the homeless and unwanted companion pets of our area. By providing humane education, pet assisted therapy, meaningful volunteer experiences, and pet/owner training classes, we emphasize the importance of the human/animal bond and help to create loving relationships between pet and guardian.

Roanoke Valley SPCA Volunteer Information

The Roanoke Valley SPCA relies on volunteers to help fulfill our mission of providing care to stray, abandoned and surrendered animals.

Our volunteers are involved with many aspects of our shelter’s operations and contribute greatly towards preparing our animals for life in a new home. We offer a comprehensive volunteer program which provides many different opportunites to choose from based on your individual interests and talent.

The RVSPCA is grateful for your interest and very appreciative of your desire to donate your time to our cause. We do ask that interested individuals be willing to commit to a minimum of a couple of hours per week.

In return, we will honor your volunteering by providing you with the appropriate orientation and on-the-job training. We will make every effort to provide a productive, educational and rewarding experience for you while you support our work on behalf of all of our animals.

The Roanoke Valley SPCA relies on the generosity of the community for the funding necessary to care for thousands of animals throughout the year. You can prove your love of animals by making a tax-deductible donation to our general operating fund, or specify how you would like your contribution to be used.No amount is too large…or too small.
