Advocates for a Sustainable Albemarle Population Charity Profile

Advocates for a Sustainable Albemarle Population (ASAP) was formed by Central Virginians who believe that Albemarle County – and neighboring communities – should begin work immediately to achieve a stationary population size in the foreseeable future.According to the most recent census figures, Albemarle County’s population is growing at a faster rate than India’s–a pace that leads to doubling in 33 years. ASAP members’ fundamental conviction is that our natural and social environments will not survive such a local population explosion.
