World Hope International Volunteer Information

Volunteer Placement
Hope Corps aims to match volunteers' skills, interests, and availability with field-generated needs and openings. The application process gives us insight into the volunteer’s background, interests, and strengths, enabling our staff to generate suitable potential placements. Volunteer placement is more an art than an exact science; thus, Hope Corps personnel determine placements in collaboration with volunteers and field personnel.

Finances / Funding Hope Corps Service
Volunteers fund their Hope Corps service. Once placement is determined, Hope Corps personnel will work with volunteers to create a comprehensive budget (amount of financial support needed to fund their entire service) that includes in-country lodging and travel costs, insurance, and airfare. Volunteers are solely responsible for raising the necessary funds to finance their Hope Corps service.

Fundraising is accomplished myriad ways, including but not limited to fundraising letters (usually sent to friends and family), hosting events, grants or scholarships, press releases, etc. We are committed to supporting your fundraising efforts and will gladly supply you with information materials to use in your fundraising presentations, and help you edit your letters.

In the unlikely event that a particular ministry is over funded,gifts may be used towards another similar ministry activity in keeping with your interests.
