Green Mountain Institute For Environmental Democracy Charity Profile

The Green Mountain Institute for Environmental Democracy (GMI) works to create governance systems that reinvigorate the essential connections between citizens, government, and information necessary for effective improvements in environmental quality and the long-term vitality of communities and regions.

GMI accomplishes this through the development, use, and support of collaborative, information-based projects and processes. These processes build the capacities of citizens, stakeholders, scientists, and government representatives to participate in deliberations about environmental conditions. In turn, these deliberations lead to improved decisions about environmental quality and its relationship with human health, economic vitality, civic capacity and our quality of life
