ABOUT US
Fundaciňn Aldeas de Paz (ADP) is a sustainable and transparent grassroots NGO based in Santa Elena de Uairen, Venezuela, near the borders with Brazil and Guyana in South America. ADP is independent from political, religious or business interests and maintains independence by completely funding and operating its programs with the practical and monetary contributions of volunteers.
OUR MISSION
We promote the -Culture of Peace- through enriching cross-cultural exchange for people of all races and nationalities and we practice voluntary community service where we provide additional opportunities in educational, recreational and environmental fields and assist our beneficiaries to develop their potential and improve their own lives.
OUR VISION
We share the values of peace, justice and tolerance, fundamentally focusing on the preservation of indigenous cultures and the empowerment of young people while valuing local knowledge and working with cultural sensitivity. Our Volunteer opportunities are truly the microcosm of a world where people join together giving priority to improving life for humanity and promoting a Culture of Peace as a practical way to both prevent and resolve conflict.

Aldeas de Paz is exclusively financed and operated by volunteers. Volunteering with us is a great opportunity to work side by side with locals, learn new skills, study Spanish and immerse oneself in the Latin and indigenous culture.

Fundación Aldeas de Paz Venezuela - Brazil Volunteer Information
Peace Villages Foundation (Aldeas de Paz) operates various programs in the local community and on foundation grounds whereby the focus is on young people in -at risk- situation or with special needs. ADP empowers young people by assisting them to develop their own potentials and provides volunteers with the information and resources to create transformative experiences in themselves and in the programs where they choose to focus their energy. The following programs leave both the volunteers and beneficiaries with tools to drive change in their future and help some of them to become future community leaders:

The ideal Contribution/Donation comes from Volunteers and interns who are the driving force of Peace Villages work, both through their volunteering and through their financial contributions which goes together. This is how we volunteers run our grass-roots charity and remain independent of political, religious and monetary interests. A typical volunteer/intern needs to be enthusiastic, willing to learn, ready for a challenge, has a desire to take initiative and dedicates a lot of caring and passion to the position. Friendliness, care, commitment and patience are among important qualities. We welcome individual volunteers, families and groups regardless of age, experience or background. You don't have to speak fluent Spanish as we provide full support and 24 hour back-up from our local staff. Volunteering with us is a great opportunity to work side by side with locals, learn new skills, study Spanish, and immerse oneself in the Latin and indigenous culture.
