Enterprise Mentors International Charity Profile
Mentors is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization that provides business training, mentoring, and microfinance services to struggling entrepeneurs in developing nations. Since 1990, Mentors has helped more than 810,000 people and 140,000 families work their way out of poverty. It is Mentors' goal to assist the impoverished in developing countries achieve self-sufficiency through self-help.
Mentors establishes affiliate foundations in host countries. Each foundation has its own local board of directors and indigenous staff. Mentors provides start-up support, training, funding and loan capital.
Using the principle of "a hand up, not a hand out," a charge is always made for services provided based on the client's ability to pay. This transforms the donor-receiver dependency relationship into a character building, consultant-client relationship.
Our Strategy – to assist the poor who are anxious to build their livelihood, their families and communities through micro and small scale enterprises.
Our Method – is to work through local affiliated organizations that provide small business loans, training and counsel.
Our Commitment – is to build greater self-respect, self-sufficiency and opportunities through training, character development, counseling and mentoring.
Our Motivation – is to serve "the least of these" in developing countries.

Enterprise Mentors International Volunteer Information
We offer several types of opportunities for you to work with Mentors.
Volunteer opportunities are open to anyone interested in making a difference and in lifting the needy out of poverty. Two effective ways to volunteer are by joining our advisory council or our youth outreach committee.
Internships are short-term positions that provide a valuable opportunity to gain experience while learning about Mentors' work. We especially seek interns with a background in finance.
Employment opportunities are ideal for professionals seeking a career in the mentoring and microfinance services field
