The Uruguayan Committee for the Fight against Corruption Uruguay Transparente (UT) is a non-governmental non-profit and legal status. The entity was formed in 1995 at the initiative of a diverse group of citizens as concerned about work against corruption and for transparency.
Uruguay Transparente is the National Chapter of Transparency International (TI), an NGO with global presence in over 100 countries around the globe, addressing all of them in the issue of transparency and combating corruption. The fight against corruption is focused mainly from the angle that it occurs most often in areas of institutional weakness seen as a weakness or lack of rules. The building of institutions to ensure transparency is a task that requires that civil society is able, through organizations such as Uruguay Transparente and other information to provide, nurture debate, nurture an awareness of problems and solutions and experience transfer institutional comparison, all the best in terms of accountability of any public entity, the better social control of those responsible for public and transparent the primacy of values in life.
Uruguay Transparente is an independent organization and its activities are financed with funds coming from donations and the contributions they make their partners as.
