The Uruguayan Committee for the Fight against Corruption Uruguay Transparente (UT) is a non-governmental non-profit and legal status. The entity was formed in 1995 at the initiative of a diverse group of citizens as concerned about work against corruption and for transparency.
Uruguay Transparente is the National Chapter of Transparency International (TI), an NGO with global presence in over 100 countries around the globe, addressing all of them in the issue of transparency and combating corruption. The fight against corruption is focused mainly from the angle that it occurs most often in areas of institutional weakness seen as a weakness or lack of rules.
