The Dhaka Project Charity Profile
We run a non profit project that works to provide much needed support to poor families and their children in Dhaka.
The Dhaka Project Volunteer Information
Volunteering at the Dhaka Project
"By being immersed into the life of The Dhaka Project, volunteers have a hugely rewarding experience, watching the children enjoy themselves and improving their knowledge makes the visit, time, effort and expense all so worthwhile...
... seeing how The Dhaka Project brings hope to very poor children left an indelible imprint on me"
Richard
Otherwise, think of the skills you possess. Are you great at interacting with kids, a good people-manager, a website specialist, an accountant, an advertiser, skilled in physical activities, a qualified teacher, a builder? The list is endless.... but you don't have to be qualified - we believe anyone can make the difference in our community.
Volunteers form a crucial part of The Dhaka Project - whether you're here for a day or a year, your presence really will make the difference. From teaching to management, skills training to setting up a new initiative - these are things we can't do without your support.
Both the children and the staff are benefited by a volunteer's stay. The cross-cultural exchange of ideas, the learning, developing and helping that automatically happens increases the confidence and abilities of all involved.
Volunteering gives you the opportunity to help others but it isn't just us that benefits. A volunteer builds their confidence, initiative and determination from a stay here, there are goals to achieve and they're not distant, far-away, but they are right there in front of you - you can see the difference you make.
