Solidarity against AIDS Organization Charity Profile

We are a rural community based organization of people living with HIV.AIDS. Our main aim is to improve the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS and to contribute towards the global fight against HIV/AIDS. One such way is for the members to promise no to transmit the virus to unsuspecting members in order to reduce the rate of new infections.

The organization was established in 2003 when the population was living in the internally displaced persons camps caused by the anti-government LRA rebels. the organization was formed by people living with HIV/AIDS to support the more vulnerable members after the departure of all civil society organizations because of the insurgency.

We were funded once under US-AID AIM programme and by the Tides Foundation mostly on home based care of people living with HIV/AIDS. We have a large number of members who act as peer educators, treatment supporters, counselors.

The organization has many programmes to alleviate the suffering of its members and the community as well especially on children exposed to HIV/AIDS infections, poverty in the households of people living with HIV/AIDS,education, and income generation.

Solidarity against AIDS Organization Donation Information

We would like to fund Prevention with the Positives Project which is a participatory project of people living with HIV/AIDS in HIV/AIDS prevention and Farming for Life project which will support livelihoods in families affected by HIV/AIDS by availing the much needed income and secure then from food shortages.
