Search And Rescue Dog Association Charity Profile
The Search and Rescue Dog Association (SARDA) Southern Scotland is a non profit making, voluntary organisation to help the Police and Mountain Rescue Teams search for missing people.
The association is a recognised charity in Scotland (SC028709) and depends on the support of the public.
SARDA Southern Scotland can provide search and rescue dogs in the South of Scotland at any time 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
In order to train our dogs we depend on our dedicated team of 'bodies' who lie out for the dogs to find.
Search And Rescue Dog Association Donation Information
What donations are used for £5- Buys light sticks to put on the dogs at night so the handler can keep track of the dog
£20- Buys a winching harness so the dog can be safely winched into a helicopter during a rescue
£50- Buys a first aid kit for when a casualy is located
£30- Buys a warm jacket for the dogs to rest in after saerching in winter
£100- Buys a GPS unit to allow the handler and dog to track their location and qhickly transmit the location of a casulty
£300- Buys a radio which allows the team to communicate with search control
