St Ann's Hospice Charity Profile
St Ann’s Hospice aims to improve the quality of life of people living with life-threatening illnesses in Greater Manchester, whilst supporting their families and carers. Patients are involved with their personal plan of care, which is tailored to meet their needs.
Although cancer related conditions account for 95% of all hospice admissions, St Ann’s services are available to patients with any life-threatening illness.
St Ann’s Hospice is one of the largest adult hospices in the UK with 60 Inpatient beds.
St Ann's Hospice Volunteer Information
The Hospice has a huge number of strongly committed volunteers who help at our three sites, shops and in fundraising activities. All give their valuable personal time to do anything from manning the visitor coffee shops, mailing and administration, or helping on the wards.
We have over 600 volunteers whose contribution is equivalent to £250,000 a year if their work had to be paid for. The skills that volunteers bring to the Hospice are varied and invaluable. They are of great benefit to St Ann’s.
Can you help?
A few hours a week makes a huge difference to the care given to people with life-threatening illnesses, their families and carers and helps keep St Ann's running.
There are many different opportunities and a wide range of activities you can become involved with. No previous experience is required and full training will be provided wherever necessary. Your hours as a volunteer can be arranged to fit in with your other commitments.
It may also be that you can offer specific skills as a Trustee or provide St Ann's with contacts in the business world. From time to time we have Trustee positions available, and we are always looking for opportunities to work with the corporate sector for fundraising and for the smooth operation of our organisation.
