We came together when we heard the Sorgun Forest was to be destroyed in order to make way for a golf course. Together we share the same anger and sadness.

We were a handfull of Turkish, German and British nature lovers. And when we shared our feelings we came to realise we weren?t just a handfull. Our self-confidence and determination grew. We call ourselves the Side Nature Volunteers. Together we promised to stand up against the destruction not only of our forest but of any tree, bird, insect or fish and we will support any positive moves with the same aim. At the moment we are fighting against those who would destroy our forest. Then we want to tackle other environmental problems. Maybe later we shall come together with others who share our feelings into larger organisations. This coming together has shown us how important it is to raise our voices loud and clear. Otherwise the actions of people who care only about money and think nothing of nature will lead to the wholesale destruction of the environment and that will cost us dear.

Anyone who loves nature is our friend. People can work with us as they choose. Each new friend will give is more strength and will help us to move towards a more beautiful world.
