Elves & More View Charity Profile
The seeds of Elves & More were planted in 2000. That year, our founder, David Moore, was recovering from a personal loss and through this experience was determined to make Christmas something special. His solution was to give Christmas gifts to those less fortunate; but none of his experience prepared him for the poverty he saw in Houston, Texas. To be poor amidst plenty seemed an incredible travesty. How could this happen, here in the land of opportunity? The need was greater than he ever imagined.Elves & More is dedicated to changing lives-one bike at a time! We focus on at-risk children living in Greater Houston, an eight-county area in which 330,000 children live in poverty. A few years ago, we made an important discovery. We learned that by giving bicycles to impoverished children we could dramatically change their lives by helping them stay in school and out of trouble while improving their health.
