Faith in Practice Charity Profile
The mission of Faith In Practice is to improve the physical, spiritual, and economic conditions of the poor in Guatemala through short-term surgical, medical and dental mission trips and health-related educational programs. Our mission is based on an ecumenical understanding that as people of God we are called to demonstrate the love and compassion that is an outward sign of God’s presence among us. Faith In Practice’s life-changing medical mission is to minister to the poor, while providing a spiritually enriching experience for our volunteers.
Faith in Practice Volunteer Information
Volunteers are expected to pay the cost of their own travel, lodging, food, and taxes. Typically, this cost is approximately $800 (plus airfare) which covers ground transportation in Guatemala, taxes, lodging, and most meals. Each volunteer pays his or her own airfare to Guatemala City. Additional expenses may include some meals, and any tourist activities that there may be time for (such as city tours or shopping).
Faith in Practice Donation Information
Your contributions are vitally important because they help fund our medical mission trips to Guatemala where we provide surgical, medical, and dental services to impoverished adults and children. We send approximately twenty-five teams of up to 40 doctors, nurses, and support staff to Guatemala on each team, serving over 14,000 patients each year.
