Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County Charity Profile

Since 1933, the Memphis Shelby County Humane Society (MSCHS) has been providing shelter, food and medical care for thousands of unwanted, neglected and abused animals. And for just as long, people like you have kept MSCHS going. We do not receive funds from any state or federal organization or entity. As a non-profit organization, we rely solely on the generosity of individuals and corporations.

Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County Volunteer Information

To make sure that we have the right volunteers doing work that they're most suited for and that they can be proud of, we first ask that interested people fill out a simple application and attend an orientation.

Orientations are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6pm, and on the third Saturday of every month at 10am

Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County is classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c) 3 organization for tax purposes, so all donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
