Finance for Human Development FIG Charity Profile

FIG (Fonds International de Garantie) is a non-profit guarantee fund based in Geneva, created in 1996 by organizations in Europe, Latin America and Africa. FIG's mission is to help Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) and agriculture cooperatives in the developing world obtain local currency loans from local commercial lenders. By providing bank guarantees to MFIs, FIG expands the resources available to small entrepreneurs, thus promoting development and fighting poverty.
