Identity Through Initiative Idem Charity Profile

IDEM is a global network of young people and international projects who want to bring about real change in the world. Today we live in a global society that is still trying to solve its issues with the structures and attitudes of a past century. Idem is the Latin word for the same, the self, the identity.

Today, more than ever before, the world is in need of concrete individual initiative. But not initiative that is simply for personal benefit. There is more than enough of that. Rather, we need initiatives that directly confront the issues of our time, which every aware young person today can hardly avoid seeing:

Globalisation
Global Warming
The Peak Oil problem
Desertification and the Eroding and Plundering of the Land
Poverty, War, Social Inequality
Genetic Manipulation and the Industrialisation of Agriculture
The Identity of the Individual

These are just the most obvious, the ones we can’t really argue about. There are a lot of others too, but the above are really staring us in the face!

Most of us actually want to get something out of life, to live a life of joy and fulfilment - one that has a meaning for ourselves, for other people and for the world.

As a platform for the initiatives and projects of young people, and having moved thousands of people over the last years, the continued support of such activity requires a lot of money.
