Pact Sudan Charity Profile
Pact began working in Sudan in 2002, leading a coalition of local and international partners in the implementation of the Sudan Peace Fund. Since then, Pact's Sudan Country Program has designed and implemented numerous programs in the areas of community security, civil security strengthening, CPA dissemination, peacebuilding, local government recovery and development and infrastructure rehabilitation across Southern Sudan.Pact works through local partners to support Sudanese aspirations for peace, stability and development through the successful implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).
Pact's initiatives aim to expand and consolidate peace and reconciliation in Sudan, laying the foundation for the development of a peaceful and stable democracy and an active civil society. Pact's approach has been developed in response to Sudan's political, economic, and cultural situation. In partnership with numerous local organizations, Pact works to enhance Sudanese capacity to address the recovery process.Partnerships have been forged with civil society organizations such as peace committees, youth and women's groups, traditional leaders, Sudanese NGOs and local and central government authorities.
