Darkness to Light Charity Profile

Darkness to Light is a national nonprofit 501c3 organization and initiative located in Charleston, SC.

Our Mission: to diminish the incidence and impact of child sexual abuse, so that more children will grow up healthy and whole our programs will raise awareness of the prevalence and consequences of child sexual abuse by educating adults about the steps they can take to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to the reality of child sexual abuse.

Darkness to Light Volunteer Information

Volunteers are desperately needed to help in the child sexual abuse crisis. Volunteers can help in both prevention and services. Darkness to Light is currently looking for volunteers in Charleston, SC. Additional examples of how you might help:

Make presentations in your community on how to protect children
Order "The 7 Steps to Protecting Our Children" and distribute them to friends, relatives and coworkers
Work with your child advocacy center or similar agencies which deal with child sexual abuse
Work at your local helpline to provide resources and help to those in need

Darkness to Light Donation Information

Here are examples of how your contribution can help Darkness to Light offer education, training and assistance to adults in their quest to protect children: Supply "7 Steps" rack cards to an organization that provides services to children
Give "7 Steps" booklets to adults in need
Provide website hosting to make information about hope and healing available for individuals in need
Support help-line access for those in crisis
Sponsor scholarship for Stewards of Children Facilitators Training
Provide Stewards of Children Training classes with workbooks
