The Genesis Trust View Charity Profile
As followers of Christ, we serve our communities holistically, meeting physical, social, and spiritual needs associated with HIV/AIDS, poverty and other social issues.

The Genesis Trust works in 3 different area's, namely Palliative Care for HIV/AIDS patients and their families; Community Outreach; and Youth Development programmes.
The overall goal of the Youth Development Ministry is to identify and develop potential leaders who can impact on the lives of people around them through youth participation in activities conducted at Genesis Community Centers.
The Genesis Trust is an outreach of the Norwegian Settlers Church, whose mission is to take the church outside of its walls!
The Genesis Trust Volunteer Information
We have opportunities for qualified and experienced Volunteers to work with our Youth and Community outreach ministries.
Criteria for a volunteer includes the following:
= fluent in English;
= sound knowledge of the Bible, and being a committed follower of Jesus Christ.
= some experience in Youth Ministry and/or Outreach Ministry;
= experience in working with multi-cultural operations;
= 21 years of age or older
= comfortable to work in rural and semi-rural communities at the various community center's
Specific skills sets required include
= teach and play a musical instrument such as guitar, keyboard; recorder or similar
= teach and conduct youth/children's choir
= teach teenagers basic computer literacy
= mentor/coach youth leaders
= administration skills such as daily attendance records and statistical reports
= journalist; communication specialist and/or graphic design skills such as creating marketing and promotional material.
= teach under resourced people to grow vegetables and produce food
= experienced fund raisers
= experienced entrepreneurs to develop organizational sustainability plans.
= Occupational Therapist; Career Councillors; Teachers
= general building maintenance and repairs
= gardening and landscaping

The Genesis Trust Donation Information
We are raising funds to complete the building of our new Youth Community Centre; situated in an area with a high rate if HIV/AIDS, crime, teenage pregnancy, drug and alcohol abuse and unemployment.
The new building which is 25% complete to date will house a range of supervised activities, including a community gym; music academy; dance studio; homework room and computer training centre; friday night youth groups, as well as our administration offices.
We require ZAR3million (US$430,000) and would like to encourage support whether big or small - we will appreciate any form of donation in money, or building materials and furnishings. For further information please contact our offices.
