Yenzani Children's Home Charity Profile

Yenzani Children's Home is a registered residential child and youth care centre providing a home for abused, abandoned, orphaned and neglected children.The safe housing of children in crisis, protecting them from secondary abuse and defending all their rights.

Yenzani Children's Home Volunteer Information

Our policy is simple - we need volunteers who are prepared to commit to certain activities at regular times. Ad Hoc volunteering is not beneficial and we discourage an attitude of pity. Volunteering at Yenzani is about the home and childrens needs.!

Our work is based on re-building self esteem and focusing on the positive aspects of their lives rather than on past trauma. Volunteers must be emotionally prepared and equipped to deal with the staff and children of Yenzani.

Our priority needs:

Tutoring and daily/weekly help with homework
Independent fundraisers
Arranging activities at Yenzani
Arranging outings e.g. movies
Transport to and from outings
Cooking
Gardening
Repairs and Maintenance
General domestic work

Yenzani Children's Home Donation Information

The SAOA staff would like to participate in the spirit of Mandela week in visiting your home and spend some time with the kids and or donating what ever the staff has available, clothes, etc
