Fact Charity Profile

FOUNDED in 1999 as a result of the genocide - in order to address the issues of torture and organised violence - by human rights activists including lawyers, physicians, and students from the Medical Students Association(MEDSA) of the National University of Rwanda. An organisation centered around 60 volunteers from differing professions who devote their time to the organisation on a part-time and as needed basis.
Our Vision: To have a world free from all forms of torture and violence. Our Mission: Forum des Activistes Contre la Torture (FACT-Rwanda) is a non profit human rights organization addressing the issues of torture and organized violence in Rwanda. In order to contribute to the eradication of torture as well as recognition, defense and rehabilitation of victims.

Become a FACT Volunteer
If you would like to be involved in the activities of FACT-Rwanda but cannot become a member, please consider becoming a volunteer to help out in our day-to-day activities. Volunteer hours are flexible, but we do request that you commit more than 20 hours a week for at least 4 weeks. FACT - Rwanda provides excellent learning opportunities for students and professionals from all over the world who are interested in participating in a non-paid internship programs. We also welcome short-term volunteer professionals with experiences in NGO management, resource development, program evaluation, information technology, and trauma psychology.
