Kuril Island Network KIN Charity Profile
For a decade, Kuril Island Network (KIN) raised awareness about protecting wildlife in the disputed "Northern Territories" (known in Russia and the rest of the world, as the southern Kuril Islands.) We raised thousands of dollars for supplies used by rangers on the Kurils. We wrote and published a Russian-Japanese-English manga adventure story. We organized international symposia, published scores of articles in Japanese and English around the world, gave dozens of lectures and interviews to Japanese and international audiences, and set up information booths at school and local festivals.
Kuril Island Network KIN Volunteer Information
Always dependent on the sweat and generosity of volunteers, KIN ended its activities and closed down officially in spring, 2008. But we decided to gather and post some of our voluminous archives on this website, which we hope will inspire and educate the world about the fabulous nature of the Kurils, and the critical importance of borderless nature protection.
