Nazareth Project Charity Profile

Nazareth Hospital has endured since 1861 as a genuine demonstration of Christians, Muslims, and Jews working together in a land revered by these three monotheistic world religions.

Unique to the region, Nazareth Hospital and School of Nursing are Israel's only Arab-administered institutions of their kind, serving Israel's Arab minority as well as Russian Jewish immigrants from nearby Nazareth Illit.

The Nazareth Project, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Lancaster, PA, depends on gifts from individuals, churches, and charitable organizations in order to continue its vital role as U.S. friend and major fundraising arm for these unique Christian institutions. To date we have raised over three million dollars to support medical services and nursing education in the Galilee.

Through The Nazareth Project, Inc., people of the United States partner with people of Israel/Palestine, helping to bring healthcare and nursing education to the region’s underserved and marginalized people.

Nazareth Project Volunteer Information

Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

maintenance / carpentry

gardening / grounds-keeping

computer support

childcare
Several apartments on the hospital compound offer volunteers very suitable accommodations. For individuals hoping to volunteer, we suggest a minimum of two months, as it takes awhile to get acquainted. Work groups, however, typically stay for only a few weeks. Volunteers often go touring together in small groups on their holidays. It is a great way to get to know people from Nazareth and the surrounding communities, as well as other internationals.
