The Coordinator for the Rights of Children and Adolescents (CDIA), a collective of 26 civil society organizations working in the field of childhood and adolescence.

En relación a las declaraciones del presidente Fernando Lugo realizadas ayer, jueves 25 de septiembre, y publicadas en la página ABC digital. Referring to the statements of President Fernando Lugo yesterday, Thursday, Sept. 25, and posted on the ABC digital page.

“Como una de nuestras primeras medidas a favor de la niñez hemos resuelto convertir uno de los cuarteles más grandes de Asunción en albergue para menores de edad”, dijo en otra parte el presidente compatriota, quien posteriormente emprendió vuelo a nuestra capital. "As one of our first steps on behalf of children we have resolved to convert one of the largest barracks in Asuncion shelter for minors," said the president in another part compatriot, who subsequently undertook flight to our capital.

La CDIA SOLICITA a las autoridades nacionales mayores detalles y explicaciones de las medidas mencionadas, a la que se hace alusión en las declaraciones del presidente Lugo. RECUERDA que toda propuesta de atención a niñez y la adolescencia debe encuadrarse a las normativas nacionales e internacionales vigentes. REMEMBER that any proposal to care for children and adolescents should fall to national regulations and international force. La presencia de niños en cuarteles no esta permitido en diversos Protocolos Internacionales ni en la Legislación Nacional. The presence of children in barracks is not permitted in various international protocols or in the National Legislation.
