Pakistan Lions Youth Council Charity Profile
Pakistan Lions Youth Council (PLYC) is one of the active non-governmental organizations of Punjab, Pakistan based at Khanewal and working in southern Punjab founded in Feb. 1985, the organization is registered with Volunteer Social Welfare Agencies, Registration & Control Ordinance, 1961 under registration number DDSW (MD)/179. Besides having registration with social welfare department, PLYC is further registered under Societies Registration Act 1861 and enrolled with the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Women Development, Social welfare (Government of Pakistan), All Pakistan Youth Federation, Punjab AIDS Consortium, UNAIDS, UNICEF and Department of Public Information (DPI) / NGO section United Nations, New York, USA.
The organization is targeting to the communities in both urban and rural areas within jurisdiction of Southern Punjab. The goal of the Organization is, To improve Health and Educational status of target communities in southern Punjab, empower children, youth and women through capacity building, providing assistance in understanding their basic rights along with legal support.
Pakistan Lions Youth Council was established as Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in 1985. It plays an active role for socio-economic, health and educational development in Punjab, particularly in its underdeveloped areas, through support, training, research and advocacy. Pakistan Lions Youth Council operates in Southern Punjab. PLYC has a huge network of organization in Multan, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The main strength of the organization is having the chief coordinator-ship of the Punjab Aids Consortium, which has the network of about 40 NGOs in Punjab region.
