Relief Nursery Charity Profile
Relief Nursery is a non-profit program proven to strengthen high-risk families and keep their vulnerable young children safe and healthy. Nationally recognized, the Relief Nursery stops the cycle of child abuse and neglect with its blend of therapeutic early childhood services and comprehensive family support, including alcohol & drug recovery support services.
The mission of the Relief Nursery is to prevent the cycle of child abuse and neglect by early intervention that focuses on building successful and resilient children, strengthening parents and preserving families. We serve low-income multi-stressed families with young children between birth and six years of age, who are at-risk for child abuse and neglect. Relief Nursery programs are an effective model of child protection and family preservation services that build on the belief that most children are best served when they remain with their families.
Relief Nursery Volunteer Information
services are needed each week. Listed below are areas of opportunity:
Classroom Assistant: Assists teachers in a classroom and playground setting using therapeutic approaches. Children range in ages from six weeks to six years.
Bus Rider: Assists the bus driver with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for child passengers. Children range in ages from six weeks to six years.
Evening Child Care Assistant: Assist child care workers with mixed age group from 3 months to 9 years while parents attend classes.
Development Office Assistant: Assists the Development department with office and clerical work.
Event Volunteer: Assist Director of Events and Development office with special events and activities.
A Caring Place Classroom Assistant: Assists Teachers in classroom and playgournd settings using therapeutic approaches. Children are all in foster care and range in ages from 6 weeks to 6 years.
*All volunteers need to fill out a volunteer application
*All volunteers over the age of 18 must have a current criminal background check

Relief Nursery Donation Information
The Relief Nursery is a private, non-profit child abuse and neglect prevention agency. Last year we provided FREE services to over 1,200 children and 969 families.
