Second Chance Animal Sanctuary Charity Profile

Second Chance Animal Sanctuary is a "no-kill" animal shelter run solely on donations, whose mission is to provide rescue, shelter, proper veterinary care including spay & neuter, and adoption services for abandoned dogs and cats in central Oklahoma.

We house nearly 100 dogs and cats, while finding homes for over 600 animals annually. To date, Second Chance has found homes for over 10,000 pets.

Second Chance Animal Sanctuary Volunteer Information

Second Chance could not do what it does without the help of our volunteers! Although our staff is dedicated and knowledgeable, extra helping hands and hearts are necessary to accomplish the important work in which we are involved. Every activity you perform, whether directly handling the animals or not, improves the quality of their lives and decreases the length of their stay in our program.

We need volunteers at the shelter: walking the dogs, socializing the cats, cleaning, sweeping and mopping, doing laundry, making adoption packets, doing light office work, and helping with customer service. We need volunteers at events: at adoption clinics @ Petsmart and Petco, and at major adoption and community outreach events. Our volunteers are 18 and older, however volunteers who are 16 & 17 years of age are welcome as long as their parents remain with them while they are volunteering.
