Southwest Oklahoma Chapter of the American Red Cross Charity Profile
Initially chartered in 1917, the Red Cross chapter in Jackson county has been providing services to the families of this area with worldwide communication between them and their loved ones in the Armed Forces of the United States. Some of the services are emergency assistance to victims of disaster, quality instruction in CPR, First Aid and Blood services.
On February 27, 1994 a re-chartering instruction was completed and a new Charter received certifying that this Chapter continues to provide quality services. In July 1996 the Chapter welcomed Kiowa, Greer and Harmon counties into the jurisdiction and changed the chapter name to Southwest Oklahoma Chapter to better reflect the geographical area we now cover. In July 1997, the chapter became the provider of all the Red Cross service for the Altus Air Force Base.
